Texas wants Federal Assistance. (moral compass is more of a moral windsock)

These Texas leaders labeled hurricane Sandy victims as “takers”.

Texas Senators John Cornyn & Ted Cruz and Texas representatives Mike Conaway, Bill Flores (in whose district West, TX lies)), Louie Gohmert, Kenny Marchant, Randy Neugebauer, Mac Thornberry, Randy Weber & Roger Williams voted against aid to Hurricane Sandy victims. Governor Rick Perry condemned federal aid to states while running for president.

An explosion in Texas prompted President Obama to call Governor Perry and offered federal aid if needed. Governor Perry, guided by his moral compass (more of a moral windsock) asked for the aid.

This is another in a long line of examples of the hypocrisy of the current leadership in Texas and the leadership Texas sends to Washington. If an individual actually needs a little bit of food to survive they are considered “takers”. There were 3 private businesses destroyed, a fertilizer plant, an apartment building, and a nursing home.  If these 3 business require federal assistance it is because Texas refuses to take care of itself.

There were also private homes destroyed and over 1000 evacuees. According to Texas leadership, asking for government help makes them “takers”.

Using the definition of “takers” Texas leaders have used in the past, Governor Rick Perry, Texas Senators John Cornyn & Ted Cruz and Texas representatives Mike Conaway, Bill Flores (in whose district West, TX lies)), Louie Gohmert, Kenny Marchant, Randy Neugebauer, Mac Thornberry, Randy Weber & Roger Williams are the takers.

The principal at work here is simple: Helping someone is bad, putting money in my pocket is a good.
