Rand Paul preaches “Trickle Down Reagan-omics” at Howard University

Rand Paul’s ignorance, distortions, and deceptions, Part II.

During his lecture Rand Paul praises the economic growth during Reagan’s presidency as a model to follow.

  • Reagan raised taxes.
    • Paul opposes tax increases.
    • (Obama calls for tax increases)
  • Reagan expanded the size of government 1.5 million employees.
    • Paul calls for smaller government.
    • (Obama has cut nearly 800,000 government jobs)
  • Reagan increased the military with a $1 Trillion dollar peace time build up.
    • Rand Paul does love this about Reagan.
    • Obama has reduced military spending.
  • All this he did with deficit spending.
    •  Blaming federal deficit as the cause of poor economic growth, Paul calls for austerity to balance the budget.
    • Obama has reduced the deficit every year in office and calls for easing down the deficit.

The only things Reagan and Paul have in common is they were both republicans and loved spending money to threaten the world. Paul claims that the republican party has not changed. Paul needs to be a student not a lecturer.

The Unregulated Militia is Unconstitutional.

The Second Amendment demands regulation.

Article [II]

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

How is the Current unregulated militia working out? I challenge anyone/everyone to do the following searches. This is a short list. “officer shot”. “shot by spouse”. “shot by son”. “shot by daughter”. “child accidentally shot”. Please post your searches as comments.

The current unregulated militia is killing thousands in America every year, more that terrorists, more than war, more than abortion. The number one threat to safety in America is the existence of a militia that is out of control.

The problem is growing. Mass murder brings the issue to media attention. The daily carnage in America is so common place that it is ignored. This fact alone demands attention. Congress has a duty to act.

Refusing to Negotiate or Compromise, the House of Representatives Tells America: We Are a Poor Country With No Resources, Except for War.

The house continues to refuse to negotiate. The Romney plan, passed twice by the House, was rejected twice. The presidents plan presented to the House shortly after the election and posted on the internet, has been totally ignored. John Boehner admitted “where’s the presidents plan? I haven’t seen it.”

Negotiation requires both plans be modified in compromise until they agree. The Ryan Budget which passed the house yesterday does the opposite. The Ryan Budget is even more egregious to the President, the Senate, and the working class than the Romney plan.

Ryan’s grandstanding denying the truth, “We want to balance the budget, they don’t”. The truth is the Republican war mongering and depression of the working class created the deficits that have been reduced every year since the GOP lost the white house. Democrats have done a lot to work toward a balance budget. The “balance the budget” claim is obviously smoke screen for his increases in Military spending, more war.

The “Destroy Obama at All Costs” is alive and well, even if it leaves some Americans to starve, many to die of easily treatable illnesses, children homeless, educational opportunities denied, and the economy in depression.

The Ryan budget tells us that America is too poor a nation and must let the hungry starve and leave the sick untended, children living in the street, and those who thirst for knowledge in ignorance. The Ryan budget shows no hint of “Christian Values”.

A person with a few million dollars in the bank will not suffer. The working class, 98% of America will. All democrats and only 10 republicans see the above facts. Boehner, Ryan, and friends must be too out of touch to understand the pain they cause or they just don’t care.

Sunshine Week. Two Reasons For Secrecy in Government.

First: Government is doing something that Americans would condemn. I will list 3 examples.

  1. President Eisenhower, together with British allies, secretly conducted a CIA operation which resulted in the overthrow of the Iranian government, installed a dictator worse than Saddam Hussein, paid millions in bribes to Iranian religious leaders, all to gain access to oil leaving the Iranian people in poverty and bloody tyranny. This is against ALL America stands for. Eisenhower, Kennedy, LBJ, and Ford kept it secrete. Carter exposed it and was ostracized for his openness.
  2. Richard Nixon secretly undermined the Paris peace talks extending the Vietnam war another 6 years in order to defeat LBJ in a presidential election. LBJ knew of Nixon’s actions and kept it secret rather than expose the fact that he learned it from illegal wire taps.
  3. GW Bush kept his sources secret during his disinformation campaign to convince Americans that invasion of Iraq was necessary. We now know that they were kept secret because they were, according to the intelligence community, unreliable. We also now know that these sources were giving false information. It appears GW Bush was attempting a repeat of Eisenhower’s actions.

Second: Making some information public would strengthen enemies and weaken America. I will list 3 examples.

  1. The plans for the Invasion of Normandy.
  2. The existence of Los Alamos National Laboratory during the Mahatten project.
  3. The current location of ballistic missile Nuclear Submarine force.

The second reason for government secrecy is unquestionable yet is used as a cover up for the first.

The Center for Effective Government (a freedom of Information Act watchdog) released a report on transparency last week, saying that the administration took “an impressive number” of steps to improve government transparency during its first term, but that national security remains a “glaring exception.” http://www.foreffectivegov.org/obama-first-term-transparency-report

Americans have every reason to be suspicious of government secrecy. The cooperation of the White House with the Senate National Security Committee is a good step. The transfer of the “Drone Program” from the CIA to the military needs to be accelerated. Controlled by the military the Senate can better oversee the use of Drones.

One Phrase of truth on Fox News, Al Sharpton echos the Fox reported fact.

The phrase went by quickly on Fox, “The stock market is not the economy”. Al Sharpton stated it more clearly saying “Stock Market at a record high and unemployment at a record low is the balance we need”.

Well put from both sources. The GOP’s people,Corporations, are making money hand over fist. The Democrat’s people, the middle class, are still being depressed and oppressed. More balance in the economy is needed before the Federal Government will be able to balance their budget. (or should I say our budget.)

What is the senate doing? After the Senate intelligence committee was provided all documentation requested on the Drone program, and after the committee voted 12-3 to approve John Brenner as CIA director,  the main action in the Senate today is Rand Paul’s filibuster to stop the majority from moving ahead.

The factual answer to John Boehner’s question “why don’t the democrats in the senate act?” is simple, there are too many republicans in the senate. Thanks for pointing this out Boehner but anyone paying attention already knows this.

Congress needs a reminder of our most basic ideal.

Look and the Great Seal of the United States of America.

The American Eagle is carrying an Olive Branch, not an atom bomb on the right . Arrows in the left symbolize the Department of Defense (not the Department of engulf and devourer.)

World Peace is a journey of 1000 miles, when will we take the first step?

VJ DAY was a time for great celebration for all the allied nations.  The cost was high.  Right along with the many brave soldiers, many innocent children paid the ultimate price.

Every year we stop and remember the soldiers who served and those who died in all armed conflicts.  I believe that it is time to remember the innocent children killed in war.

These children have been written off as “collateral damage”.  Is an innocent child’s death any less tragic if it is an “enemies” child?

If we start a National Day of Mourning, maybe other Nations will join us. This would be strong American leadership.  Far too strong to leave it to the government, this must be a people’s day. Governments are too busy organizing for war.

If every people from every nation identified the innocents they have lost, then every nation stopped and joined together to remember the greatest atrocity of war, the deaths of the innocents.

If the human race can acknowledge that any child’s death, anywhere for any reason, is tragic, then maybe the world can begin to heal.

Maybe this is common ground to earnestly begin the journey to world peace.
