Obama is working hard to KEEP his campaign promises. Politicians braking promises is the norm, abandoning campaign rhetoric is expected. Obama, however, is actually sticking with what he promised. $2 of cuts to $1 in revenue.
His proposal contains about $980,000,000,000 in spending cuts and $5 billion in revenue. This would balance the budget in about 5 years and pay off a huge portion of the National debt.
Senate majority leader Harry Reed stated today that the senate will vote on and pass this plan next week. Such an action is not constitutional as budget bills must originate in the house. Given a House with the current leadership, this is somehow logical.
The broken House of Representatives has made a wreck of the process.
